Competition Rules FANG 2025

ARTICLE I : ORGANISATION
The competition, organized by the Nîmes Guitares & Co association, is open to all amateur classical guitarists.
Its aim is to promote classical guitar and discover young talents in this discipline.
The competition will take place:
- Thursday, May 28, 2025: categories 21 years and over AMATEUR and DUO category at the IFME in Nîmes
- Friday, May 29, 2025: selection of the 21 years and over PRE-PRO category
- Saturday, May 30, 2025 (categories 1 to 5 and final of the PRE-PRO category) at the Christian Liger theater (in the Pablo Neruda center) in Nîmes.

ARTICLE II : CATÉGORIES
The candidates are divided into 8 categories.
1/ Under 10 years old (on the date of the competition)
2/ Under 12 years old (on the date of the competition)
3/ Under 14 years old (on the date of the competition)
4/ Under 17 years old (on the date of the competition)
5/ Under 21 years old (on the date of the competition)
6/ 21 years old and over AMATEUR (on the date of the competition)
7/ Under 31 years old PRE-PRO (on the date of the competition)
8/ DUO (2 guitars or guitar + other instrument, no age restriction)
A candidate can only compete in one soloist category. A candidate can compete in both a soloist category AND the Duo category.
A candidate who has won a category must present himself in the higher category.

ARTICLE III : TESTS
All candidates must be present, at the place and time indicated on the invitation, with an identity document. All details concerning the conduct of the tests will be specified on the invitations.
For categories with an imposed piece, the free piece must be of a level substantially equivalent to the imposed piece. All tests are public.
- Under 10 years old: compulsory piece + free piece of 2 minutes maximum
- Under 12 years old: compulsory piece + free piece of 2 minutes maximum
- Under 14 years old: compulsory piece + free piece of 3 minutes maximum
- Under 17 years old: compulsory piece + free piece of 4 minutes maximum
- Under 21 years old: compulsory piece + free piece of 6 minutes maximum
- 21 years old and over AMATEUR: free program of 8 minutes maximum including at least 1 piece by a French composer
- Under 31 years old PRE-PRO: SELECTION: compulsory piece + free program of 10 minutes maximum FINAL: free program of 15 minutes maximum (different from the selection)
- DUO: free program of 15 minutes maximum including at least 1 piece by a French composer.
All pieces must be played from memory. The use of scores on stage is not authorized.
The original scores (photocopies prohibited) may be requested by the jury from the candidate on the day of the competition. The order of passage will be established according to age, with the youngest candidate in each category going first.

ARTICLE IV : JURY
The jury will be composed of personalities who are specialists in classical guitar. Its decisions are sovereign and without appeal. The jury is free to award or not the prizes.

ARTICLE V : RATING
Each jury awards a score out of 100:
- Artistic /45
- Technical /45
- Presence on stage /10
The ranking will be obtained by the average of the scores awarded by each jury. If a member of the jury is a candidate's teacher, he or she will abstain from voting.
For the category 21 years and over PRE-PRO, the average of the 2 rounds will determine the final result.
The Prizes are indivisible. In the event of a tie, the President of the jury will decide between the candidates.

ARTICLE VI : PRIZES AND AWARDS
Candidates will be rewarded according to the prize table announced on the website www.animestaguitare.com. A consolation prize will be awarded to all participants.
Rewards: checks, vouchers, strings, sheet music, musical items, etc.
Special Prizes will be awarded: the Cyprien N’Tsaï Prize, the City of Nîmes Prize and the René Bartoli Prize awarded to the most “beautiful sound” in the soloist categories.
The list of Prizes and Rewards is not final and may change.

ARTICLE VII : INSCRIPTION
Each candidate must complete the registration form on the website www.animestaguitare.com, under the “registration” section or directly by scanning the barcode below. The registration deadline is May 4, 2025, 11:59 p.m. The registration fee is set at €30 for categories 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and €60 for categories 7 and 8. Candidates for the DUO category must make a single registration. A reduction of €5 is granted for any registration made before January 15, 2025 (€10 for the PRE-PRO and DUO categories).
For the smooth running of the competition, the number of places is limited. Registrations may be closed before the deadline if the maximum number of candidates is reached.
The organizer reserves the right to delete a category in the event of insufficient participants. Under this condition, the registration fees will be refunded. No other reason for reimbursement may be considered even upon presentation of a certificate

ARTICLE VIII : PHOTOS, VIDEOS, IMAGE RIGHTS
Flashes and lights are strictly forbidden during the tests so as not to disturb the candidates or the jury.
By registering for the competition, candidates accept that the organizing association uses, free of charge, their image (whatever the medium: photos, videos, audios, etc.) and to exploit them worldwide, for an unlimited period, in whole or in part, for commercial exploitation.

ARTICLE VII : LIABILITY
La responsabilité de l'association organisatrice du concours ne pourra être engagée pour tout préjudice corporel ou matériel causé à toute personne, ou subi par elle, y compris candidats et accompagnateurs, tant au cours des épreuves que des déplacements occasionnés dans le cadre du concours. En cas de vol, l'organisation décline toute responsabilité.
La participation au Concours A'Nîmes ta Guitare implique l'acceptation pleine et entière, sans réserve, du présent règlement.
